FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Our client is a Luxembourg Venture Capital Fund with headquarters in Brussels (Avenue Louise), focusing on and investing in more than 50 sustainable agri-foodtech start- and scale ups all over the world. With 850 mio€ venture capital (in 3 funds) our client is building for scale and sustainable impact in the food system. As an impact investor (founded in 2017), they require of their investee companies a contribution to at least one of the six impact objectives (reduce GHG emissions, protect biodiversity, save water, support social welfare, promote good health and collect climate tech data).

To strengthen the 27 FTE team in the Brussels office, we are looking for a Financial Controller – Experience in controlling / interest in venture capital / open for a more sustainable world.

Reporting to the Financial Lead and working closely with the investment team, who will evaluate and appraise investments, you will …
• ensure accurate and timely financial close on all levels (GPs, feeder, BE/FR Support office, master fund and side vehicles): coordination with different administrators,
• prepare quarterly LP reporting in the reporting tool (Fundrbird),
• be the main point of contact in the audit process (prelim and year-end),
• coordinate with service providers on tax and VAT related questions,
• assist in budget and forecast exercise (GP & Fund(s)) and monitor on a consolidated level variances vs actuals,
• plan the cashflow,
• manage the day-to-day relationship with the fund administrator and the fund AIFM,
• approve payments and monitor expenses,
• monitor invoicing cycle,
• monitor VAT and Tax filings by service providers,
• execute ad hoc assignments and financial analysis.

• With a Bachelors / Masters’ degree in Economics, Accounting, Corporate Finance or similar, you have several years of relevant experience in controlling and reporting.
• You are fluent in English (company internal communication language) plus at least one other European language (Dutch / French highly regarded). You embrace diversity of different cultures.
• You are used (or open) to work in a small environment, with short decision lines and a hands-on mentality.
